1/22/2004 11:35:48 AM | Cross Country, Track and Field
SU will compete against teams from Albany, Buffalo, Colgate, Toronto and the host Big Red. All events will take place in Barton Hall on the Cornell campus. The Orange will use the meet as an opportunity for more student-athletes to qualify for the league, regional and national championships. Some members of the team who have already earned qualifying standards will not be competing.
Last weekend at the USTCA Series Meet, juniors Jenna Grimaldi and Johvonne Hernandez led the Orangewomen to a sixth-place finish. Grimaldi won the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.78m, and Hernandez won the weight throw with a distance of 18.81m. On the men’s side, junior Valerij Petrulevich set a school record with a time of 1:52.84 in the 800-meter run.
The competition at the Cornell Four-Way will take place throughout the day. Complete results will be available on Cornell’s official athletics website, www.cornellbigred.com.
