Dommestrup Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Aila Dommestrup, a setter on Orange volleyball team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 8.
Dommestrup is a three-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and was selected a 2003 BIG EAST Academic All-Star. Dommestrup is a sociology major.
With a sweep of Connecticut on Sunday, the Orange volleyball team qualified for the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 1999. The Orange hosts West Virginia on Nov. 12 and Pittsburgh on Nov. 14, before heading to the BIG EAST Tournament in Pittsburgh on Nov. 20.
