Warrick Earns Co-BIG EAST Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI -- Junior Hakim Warrick has been named Co-BIG EAST Player of the Week along with Emeka Okafor from Connecticut. The honor covered games played from February 16-22.
Warrick had an outstanding week, averaging 23.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks in two games. The Orangemen split the two outings, losing to Notre Dame on Feb. 16 and winning at Georgetown on Feb. 21. Warrick posted game highs in scoring for both the Notre Dame (28)and Georgetown (19) matchups.
Warrick, the BIG EAST Conference's most improved player a year ago, is a finalist for three national player of the year awards -- the Naismith Award, the Wooden Award, and the Adolph E. Rupp Award.
Heading into the Feb. 23 game with Villanova, Warrick was averaging a squad-best 19.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.
