Syracuse Hosts Indoor Tournament

In addition to two Syracuse squads, eight teams will participate in the event, including Colgate, the University of Buffalo, Binghamton and St. Bonaventure. Games will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue into the afternoon.
The format for the competition will be five-on-five plus a goalkeeper for each team.
The teams will be split into two groups of five and play a round-robin format with the top two squads in each group moving on to the semifinal round. Games will consist of one 25-minute period with no overtime. Teams will receive three points for each win and one point for ties.
Each semifinal and the final will consist of one 20-minute period and, if necessary, two five-minute sudden death overtime periods. If the match is still tied after the two overtime sessions, penalty kicks will decide the contest.
Prior to the semifinal round, there will be a hard shot competition. Each team will select one representative to attempt to break the current tournament record, which stands at 59 mph.
