SYRACUSE, NY -- Junior forward Hakim Warrick is one of 20 student-athletes named to the official voting ballot for the 2004 Wooden Award All-American Team and Player of the Year award. The All-American team, made up of the top five vote recipients, will be announced on March 30. The Wooden Award will be presented on April 10.
Warrick leads the Orangemen in scoring (19.9) and rebounding (9.0) averages. He also has a squad-best 12 double-doubles this season and has scored in double digits in all but one contest. He became the 46th player to score 1,000 points at Syracuse earlier this season.
Warrick is also a candidate for the Naismith and Rupp player of the year awards.
Syracuse takes a 21-6 record into this week's BIG EAST Tournament. The Orangemen, seeded fourth, have a first-round bye. SU will play the winner of the Boston College vs. Georgetown game in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
