Orange Track and Field Team Heads South for Sea Ray Relays

The Orange will be testing themselves against a group of elite competitors, including Olympians, world champions, national champions and NCAA champions. Last weekend at the Penn Invitational, graduate student Aprelle Watkins and sophomore Kristen Michalski each won their respective events. Watkins won the long jump with an ECAC-qualifying leap of 5.84 meters, and Michalski won the hammer throw with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 50.87 meters. Michalski will try to improve that mark this weekend, and Watkins will compete in the triple jump.
The Sea Ray Relays began Wednesday and continue through Saturday. Competition on Friday begins at 8:45 a.m. and will continue until 9:20 p.m. Saturday's events include both sprint and middle distance relays, beginning at 9:15 a.m. and ending at 5:45 p.m. Admission is free for all four days.
