
Zimmer and Walker to Play in North/South Senior All-Star Game

SYRACUSE, N.Y.
-- Senior women’s lacrosse student-athletes Leigh-Ann Zimmer and Jacquelyn Walker have been selected to participate in the North/South Senior All-Star Game. They are two of 24 performers that will make up the North’s roster.The event is sponsored by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), STX, and Marriott Inc. and will be played on Saturday, June 5 at 3:00 p.m. at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Zimmer paced an SU offense that finished seventh in scoring average among Division I teams (12.73 gpg) in 2004. She set Orange single-season marks with 74 points and 52 goals. Zimmer recorded at least four points in 13 of SU’s 15 games and tallied a career-best seven points three times (vs. Virginia, Rutgers, Notre Dame). For her efforts, she was chosen as the BIG EAST’s Co-Attack Player of the Year.
Walker started every game on defense for the Orange in 2004, and 31 consecutive contests dating back to the 2003 campaign. She recorded 11 ground balls and caused four turnovers this past season.
Syracuse finished the 2004 season with a 9-6 oveall record.
