
SU Graduates Elected to Niagara Hall of Fame

SYRACUSE, NY – Former Syracuse University student-athletes Oscar B. Jensen (1960), John F. Warner, Sr. (1951) and the late Allen Woodring (1922) have been elected to the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame. An induction ceremony will be held during the Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon on Sunday, Sept. 12 at the RIT Inn and Conference Center in Rochester, N.Y.
Jensen, currently the head track and field coach at Baldwinsville High School, graduated from SU in 1960, MS 1972. Jensen, the 2002 National High School Track and Field Coach of the Year, also coached at Liverpool High School from 1962-1996.
Warner, named a Letterwinner of Distinction at SU in 1988, was inducted into the Cornell Athletics Hall of Fame in 1994. He coached at Cornell from 1967-1990 and was named NCAA Division I District II Men's Track and Field Coach of the Year in 1978.
Woodring lettered in track and field at SU in 1921 and 1922. He won an Olympic gold medal at the 1920 Olympic games in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.0 seconds.
