The search engine is located on the left side of the main page. Visitors to the site can type in a word or phrase describing the information they are seeking and a list of choices fitting that description will be displayed. A new pull-down menu is also located on the left side of the main page, beneath the listing of sports. Links for offices within the department are provided in this area, including links for the Stevenson Educational Center, Orange Pack, Varsity Club, Marketing, Facilities, Sports Medicine, Compliance, 'Cuse Kids Club and Cheerleading, Dance Team and Mascot.
The Calendar of Events on the right side of the main page and each sport page is a quick reference for Orange fans for all athletics contests for the week. Each individual sport page includes a section entitled "Orange Sports" that includes links for history and records and links for information specific to that sport. "Orange Sports" is located to right of the Calendar of Events on each sports page. In addition, the links for the roster, schedule, statistics, coaching staff bios and archive has been moved from the top of each sport page to the right side of the page.
Using the "Extras" box located on the main page and every sport page, fans can purchase media guides and posters using a credit card on the website. In addition, live broadcasts of Orange football, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse games, as well as coaches’ shows and “Orange Pulse” will be streamed and archived on the site. An annual subscription is $29.95 and a monthly subscription is $4.95. In addition, the "Extras" box includes a link for directions to every SU athletics venue.
A popular feature that was added to the site in March is the electronic newsletter. Fans can register to have the newsletter delivered directly to their e-mail for no charge. The newsletter is sent to provide breaking news to Orange fans across the country.
Along with the new features, Orange fans can continue to visit the site for the unique features they have come to expect and get the most up-to-date information on all of Syracuse’s athletics teams. Fans can watch the live stats for Syracuse home football and men’s and women’s basketball games. A transcript from head football coach Paul Pasqualoni’s weekly press conference is posted on the site, as well as post-game quotes from Coach Pasqualoni and head coach Jim Boeheim and student-athletes following home football and men’s basketball games.
The Syracuse Athletics Department is in its fifth year in partnership with Internet Consulting Services to provide technical support for suathletics.com. Internet Consulting designed the new layout of the site. During the 2003-04 school year, the site averaged 1.5 million page views per month.
