
SU Road Trip Lands In Providence

SYRACUSE, NY -- #7/7 Syracuse's men's basketball team (16-1, 3-0) takes on Providence (9-6, 0-2) in the Dunkin Donuts Arena on Saturday, January 15, at 1:00 p.m.
SU hopes to avenge last season's loss at Providence, a 74-61 decision. The Orange bring a modest nine-game winning streak into the contest and own an overall edge in the series with the Friars at 37-9. In BIG EAST Conference regular-season pairings, the SU advantage is 32-7.
Gerry McNamara, last week's BIG EAST Conference Co-Player of the Week, is averaging 21.3 points-per game in conference outings this season.
Providence is led by the league's preseason player of the year in Ryan Gomes. He leads the leage in scoring (20.9 ppg.) and ranks second in rebounding (9.3 rpg.).
The game will be televised by CBS with Syracuse alumnus Ian Eagle and Bill Raftery calling the action. Matt Park and Gene Waldron host the radio coverage of the contest on the Syracuse ISP Radio Network, originating from flagship station WAQX-FM (95.7).
