SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The No. 17/19-ranked Syracuse men's basketball team will look to bounce back from Tuesday's 74-69 loss to Bucknell when it hosts Siena on Nov 25, at 7 p.m. It is the second in a seven-game home stand for the 3-2 Orange.
Junior forward Demetris Nichols leads SU in scoring with 15.2 points per game. He is second on the squad in rebounding with 7.4 an outing. Meanwhile, senior Gerry McNamara is second in scoring with 13.0 ppg. His 30 assists is tops among the Orange. Junior forward Terrence Roberts is averaging 12.8 points per game to rank third on the team in scoring. He is the squad's top rebounder with a total of 45 boards on the season, including 25 offensive rebounds, for an average of nine per game.
Siena will be looking for its first win of the 2005-06 season. The Saints have played just one game so far, losing on the road at Pennsylvania on Nov. 21, by a score of 82-77. Antoine Jordan had a team-high 22 points and 10 rebounds against the Quakers. He was one of four Saints in double figures that game. Tay Fisher tallied 18 points, while Kojo Mensah and David Ryan chipped in with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
This will be the seventh meeting between Syracuse and Siena. The Orange controls the all-time series, 6-0, including last year's 78-56 victory at the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse has lost two games in November for the first time since 1987-88 and two consecutive November outings for the first time in program history.
