The Syracuse men's basketball has a perfect 8-0 record in games played in the Carrier Dome on this date during the past 25 years. Most recently, Hakim Warrick recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Orange's 91-67 victory against St. Bonaventure in 2004.
Syracuse played in the Carrier Classic twice on this date. In 2000, SU defeated Akron, 81-51, to advance to the finals. The Orange defeated Virginia Commonwealth, 100-73, in the semifinals of the 1989 Carrier Classic.
Coming off three straight wins at the 1998 Maui Classic, Syracuse returned to the Dome to face Quinnipiac. Etan Thomas scored 26 points to lead SU to a 93-65 victory.
The Orange has faced Cornell three times on this date in the Dome. In 1993, six SU players reached double figures in scoring in the Orange's 95-59 victory. Lawrence Moten began his sophomore season with a bang, scoring 29 points in Syracuse's 97-67 win against the Big Red in 1992. In 1990, Dave Johnson scored 15 and Billy Owens added 14 points in Syracuse's 86-61 victory.
Syracuse's other victory on this date came in 1986. Greg Monroe and Sherman Douglas combined for 32 points as the Orange defeated George Washington, 82-69.
