Morton Signs NLI To Play For Volleyball Orange

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 14, 2005 – Head volleyball coach Jing Pu announced that Sarah Morton, a native of Burnt Hills, N.Y., has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Orange next season.
Morton, a 6-1 middle blocker, was the first player in Burnt Hills history to record 1,000 kills. She also compiled 502 career blocks in her four years, which is a school record. In her four years with the Spartans, she guided the team to a 108-5 overall record.
Morton led Burnt Hills to three state championships in four years. In her senior season, she captained the Spartans that went a perfect 29-0 to win the championship. Burnt Hills also won state titles in her freshman and junior years. In her sophomore year, the school advanced to the state semifinals.
In her sophomore year, Morton was a second team All-State selection. She was named to the first team in her junior season and has been a Suburban Council All-Star four times. She was named the Suburban Council MVP in 2005 and the player of the year by the Saratogian. Morton is also a prepvolleyball.com All-American.
Morton also stars in basketball at Burnt Hills and was the Section II MVP last season.
