PROVIDENCE, RI – Senior forward Hakim Warrick has been named player of the week by the BIG EAST Conference on February 28. Warrick posted consecutive career-high scoring outputs, netting 35 points and 10 rebounds in an 83-69 win against St. John’s, followed by a 36-point effort, including 12-of-17 from the field and 12-for-13 from the free throw line in SU’s 91-66 triumph against Providence on Senior Day.
It’s the fifth time this season Warrick has been recognized with the league's player of the week laurels. Warrick, who ranks fifth in career scoring with 1,958 points, is averaging 21.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Orange this season.
SU closes out the regular season at Connecticut on Saturday, March 5. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
