Track & Field Gears Up for SU Invitational

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SU track and field teams host the SU Invitational on February 5-6 at Manley Field House. The meet will feature teams from Albany, Binghamton, Brockport, Buffalo, Erie CC, Geneseo, Mohawk Valley CC, Oswego, Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester.
Last week the Orange faced tough competition at the Illinois Invitational and the following athletes hope to improve on these solid performances. Senior Jenna Grimaldi took top honors in the high jump with a mark of 5-07. Senior Leah Folmsbee won the 3,000 meters with a personal best time of 10:17.32. Sophomore Shelby Perkins finished behind Folmsbee with a career best time of 10:19.51. Freshman Kathleen Sanborn took top honors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.64. Freshman Brittany Pryor took second in the shot put with a throw of 46-10.00.
Syracuse will host the BIG EAST Indoor Championships at the Carrier Dome for the 27th consecutive year on February 19-20. The Orange travels to Bucknell University for the Bison Winter Classic on February 12.
