
Hall Of Fame Week Arrives For Boeheim

SYRACUSE, NY -- Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction week has arrived for SU Coach Jim Boeheim. The long-time Orange bench boss will be inducted in ceremonies this Friday night in Springfield, Mass. Boeheim will be enshrined along with Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun, former NBA coach and current broadcaster Hubie Brown, and Brazilian standout Hortencia de Fatima Marcari. Former LSU women's coach Sue Gunter will be inducted posthumously.
Enshrinement Weekend gets underway on Friday, Sept. 9, with a press conference at the Hall of Fame at 10 a.m. The inductees will be involved in charitable and educational appearances in the Springfield community after the press conference. The Pre-Enshrinement Reception is scheduled for 5:30 and the dinner and ceremony follows at 7:30 p.m. The event is sold out and will be televised by ESPN Classic and NBA TV. NBA TV will televise a pre-ceremony show beginning at 7:00 p.m. ESPN2 has programming scheduled for September 11.
Boeheim will be inducted by his former college roommate, Dave Bing, who is a member of the Hall of Fame.
Additional activities are planned for Saturday, Sept. 10.
