2006-07 SU Women’s Basketball Tickets Available October 25

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Tickets for the 2006-07 SU women’s basketball season go on sale October 25 and will available online at www.suathletics.com. Tickets are also available by calling the Carrier Dome Box Office at 1-888-DOMETIX (315-443-2121). Fans have the ability to purchase season and individual game tickets for all of Syracuse’s 12 regular season home games.

By purchasing season tickets ($60 Adult, $20 Youth & Seniors), SU fans realize the greatest savings. In addition, season tickets holders are issued reserve seating passes allowing them to sit in exclusive courtside seats for all home games played at the Carrier Dome. Individual game tickets have been priced at $6 for Adults and $3 for youth/seniors. To purchase season tickets or individual game tickets, click here. “High energy, high octane basketball. That will be what fans can expect to see out of the 2006-07 Orange which has all four starters returning and 9-of-12 letter winners from last year’s club back in the fold this season. While the faces will be familiar, Syracuse will employ a much more up-tempo style of play under head coach Quentin Hillsman, who was promoted to the position in October.

“Controlled chaos is what I call it,” said Hillsman. “My goal is to make our opponents very, very uncomfortable. I’m a defensive-minded coach. I want to run. I want to press and I want to get up and down the floor and force the other team to scramble. I think people are going to enjoy the way we play.”

In addition to the veteran core of the team, SU brought in a pair of highly-touted newcomers that fit Hillsman’s style of play and helped SU earn a Top 50 recruiting ranking according to The All-Star Girls Report.

“We are going to play hard,” Hillsman said. “There are things in this game you can’t control, but we can control our effort and that is what will make us successful.”

The Orange tip-off on Friday, November 3, at 7 a.m. against Team adidas at Manley Field House in exhibition play. Syracuse opens the regular season at the Dome against Cornell on November 15.
