2006-07 Cross Country/Track & Field Media Guide
The 2006-07 Cross Country/Track & Field Media Guide is now available online. The cross country team just completed on its most successful seasons in recent history and the track and field team is set to begin its season.
The men's cross country team finished third at the NCAA Northeast Regional, its highest finish in school history. Syracuse just missed automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championship by one spot. Following the meet, the Orange received votes in the national cross country poll for the first time in school history. Four runners, Jeff Scull, Chris Muldoon, Dan Busby and Jay Koloseus, earned all-region accolades for the Orange. Busby and Koloseus were the only two freshmen represented on the all-region team.
The women's cross country team also showed a great deal of improvement. Sophomore Nana Sang-Bender became the third SU woman, and the second in two years, to garner all-conference accolades by finishing ninth at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship. Sang-Bender also earned All-Northeast Region honors.
The Syracuse track and field team is set to open its indoor season on Saturday at the Cornell Relays. After winter break, the Orange returns home to host the Syracuse Welcome Back Invitational January 12.
