This Day in Dome History: March 11
3/11/2006 3:00:17 PM | Men's Lacrosse, Dome 25
Only one event has taken place in the Carrier Dome on March 11 during the past 25 years. That game took place in 2004 when the Syracuse men’s lacrosse team hosted Notre Dame.
The Orange led by one, 7-6, before the Fighting Irish scored the final goal of the third quarter and three straight to start the fourth to take a 10-7 lead. Syracuse responded with a 9-1 scoring run and went on to a 19-13 victory.
Brian Crockett scored five goals for the Orange, while Mike Powell scored three goals and dished out three assists. Jay Pfeifer led the Syracuse defense, recording 15 saves.
More than 23.5 million people have passed through the revolving doors of the Carrier Dome since the building’s first public event on September 20, 1980. Throughout the 2005-06 SU athletics seasons the University will celebrate the first 25 years of the Loud House.
