SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University softball team will begin BIG EAST play on the road instead of at home this weekend. Home doubleheaders scheduled for Saturday, March 25 against Seton Hall and Sunday, March 26 versus St. John’s will played on the road due to unplayable field conditions in Syracuse, head coach Mary Jo Firnbach announced on Tuesday, March 21.
The Orange will compete against the Pirates at Ivy Hill Park, adjacent to the Seton Hall campus on Saturday. The start of the first game will be at 12:00 p.m. The following day, Syracuse will meet St. John’s for a doubleheader at Red Storm Field with the first pitch of the first game also scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
Due to the site changes, the Orange is now slated to make its home debut on April 8 against conference rival Notre Dame.
Syracuse split its four games at the 2006 Capital Classic from March 17-19. The Orange is 11-13 overall.
