
Bonnies To Close Out December 2006 Schedule

SYRACUSE, NY -- A Saturday, December 30 home game with St. Bonaventure will close out the 2006 portion of the upcoming men's basketball season for Syracuse. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Carrier Dome for the Orange and St. Bonaventure.
The two New York rivals have met 24 times previously in men's basketball and Syracuse owns a 21-3 advantage in the series. The Orange has captured the last 11 consecutive matchups with St. Bonaventure, including a 91-67 victory in a contest played at Rochester's Blue Cross Arena on December 1, 2004. Hakim Warrick had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
St. Bonaventure's most recent triumph in the series came on January 26, 1981. The Bonnies won in Olean, 74-71.
Coach Anthony Solomon has four returning starters, including junior forward Michael Lee (12.7 ppg., 6.5 rpg.) and senior center Paul Williams (10.1 ppg., 7.1 rpg.). The Bonnies were 8-19 overall and 2-14 in the Atlantic 10 last season.
Syracuse has already announced home dates with Charlotte (Nov. 22), Holy Cross (Nov. 27), Colgate (Dec. 9), Baylor (Dec. 16), Drexel (Dec. 19) and Hofstra (Dec. 22).
