Colsey Leads Philadelphia to MLL Title

CARSON, Calif. – Former Syracuse All-American Roy Colsey tallied six goals and registered two assists to lead the Philadelphia Barrage to a 23-12 win against the Denver Outlaws in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) championship game. It was the Barrage’s second league title in the past three seasons.
Colsey, who named the postseason MVP for his performance, is one of 12 Orange players to earn All-America honors in each of his four collegiate seasons (1992-95). He was a member of SU’s 1995 NCAA championship team.
Earlier this year, Colsey participated the ILF World Championship as a member of the U.S. national team and helped Team USA to a silver medal.
SU alums Joe Ceglia and Michael Springer also helped the Barrage to the title. Springer netted a goal in the fourth quarter versus Denver and finished the season tied for third on the team with 35 points. Ceglia had one goal in the regular season for Philadelphia. Ceglia was a member of SU's 2000 national championship team and was an honorable mention All-American that season. Springer was Ceglia's teammate on the 2000 NCAA title squad and also helped to the Orange to the national championship in 2002. Spring was a four-time Orange All-American.
He is tied for 13th on SU’s career goals list (124) and is 21st on the Orange’s career points chart (163).
