The Syracuse Orange (3-14, 0-1 BIG EAST) volleyball team looks to end its losing streak on Sunday when it hosts Cincinnati on Sunday at noon.
The Orange defeated the Bearcats last season in a close four-game match. Syracuse won 3-1 (30-32, 30-27, 30-27, 31-29). Kelly Duan recorded a team-high 18 kills and Joscie Kaup set a career high with 33 digs.
Assistant coach Carol Munger expects another tough match with the Bearcats, who had won five-consecutive matches before losing to Marquette in its BIG EAST opener.
“Cincinnati is a little better than they were last year. They have a lot of their players returning. They are solid all the way around. Each player contributes a lot so it is going to be another tough match. I think they are third right now in the BIG EAST and if we want to make the top eight this is a team that we are going to have to compete with and hopefully win.”
