The Syracuse women's soccer team hosts Dartmouth in its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. It will be the last time SU fans can see the Orange at SU Soccer Stadium for over two weeks. The Orange will be on the road for the next two weekends for BIG EAST matches. Syracuse closes out the 2006 regular season with four home games against BIG EAST counterparts.
The Orange is 2-6-0 against the Big Green all-time. Both of SU’s wins against Dartmouth have come at the SU Soccer Stadium. In 1999, the Orange won 2-1, and in 2004, the Orange won 2-1 in overtime. Six of the eight games in the series have been decided by one goal. Dartmouth has outscored the Orange 13-6 in the series and four of its wins have been shutouts. Last season, Dartmouth beat Syracuse, 3-1.
After starting the season 0-2, Dartmouth has won five of its last six games. The Big Green has outscored its last three opponents 9-0 and 10 of its 14 goals this season have come in the second half. Junior Monica Martin de Bustamente leads the Big Green with three goals and five other players have two goals. Senior Megan Wijas has a team-best three assists. Junior goalkeeper Amanda Webb has played every minute in goal for Dartmouth this season. She has a 0.75 goals against average, a .778 save percentage and four shutouts on the year.
