The 2007 Syracuse Orange Soccer Training Centre brochure and registration form is now available online. Syracuse head coach Pat Farmer will once again hold a soccer training camp for girls ages 10-18 this summer, July 30-Aug.2. The camp features instruction from Farmer, his staff and players, and various other coaches and players from around the Syracuse region.
The camp allows players of different ages and skill levels to received instruction from experienced players and coaches, as well as participate in drills and game situations during the summer. There are three different levels of participation:
- DAY CAMP: Players 10-14 years of age can participate in the day camp, which runs from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. during the week. The fee includes daily lunch, camp t-shirt and soccer ball, and a written evaluation form. ($200)
- ADVANCED POSITIONAL CAMP: High school aged players can take part in the advanced positional camp, which is designed to provide advanced training at their position of choice. The advanced training camp is limited to the first 16 forwards, 20 midfielders, 20 defenders and eight goalkeepers who sign up. ($375)
- TEAM TRAINING CAMP: Team training camps allow entire varsity or club teams and coaches to receive instruction on how to perform under their specific system of play. Each team will work with a STC staff coach who is a college or ODP coach and the team's coaches will have coaching seminars with Coach Farmer in addition to field sessions. Special sessions will also be held that include such topics as sports nutrition and the NCAA process. Teams must include 18-22 players and only the first six teams will be accepted. ($300)
The Orange Soccer Training Centre is dedicated to providing an educational and enjoyabel soccer environment for players and coaches. The emphasis for players is on technique development in small group instruction and a game oriented environment. The emphasis for coaches is on expanding tactical ideas and training methods for teams of all ages.
