What a weekend for Orange football fans! The return of three-time All-American Floyd Little is just one of several highlights of the 2007 Homecoming that surrounds the Syracuse contest against Rutgers Saturday, October 13(12:00 p.m., ESPN Regional). Little will serve as honorary captain and will represent the great history of SU football by speaking with the team, participating in the Quad Walk and joining captains Jameel McClain and Taj Smith for the coin toss. Tickets are available online and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (888-DOMETIX). Fans are invited to use the 'Print at Home' option for tickets to avoid waiting in lines at the Dome on gameday.

"We talk all the time that we stand on the shoulders of those before us and Floyd if just another great example of people we have been able to bring into the program," said head coach Greg Robinson. "Last week with Don McPherson and Paul Frase, and now to have Floyd coming in, is really good for our football team."
Little is not the only former Syracuse student-athlete being recognized during homecoming weekend. The University will honor the 2007 LetterWinners of Distinction during the game. The 43rd class includes Brent Clark ’50 (swimming), Bob Dixon ’38 (tennis), Richard King ’65 (football), Roger Praetorius ’73 (football), Thomas C. Schlendorf ’67 (wrestling), and James R. Shreve ’51 (basketball/football).
Included in celebrating the University's Class of 1957, the men's basketball and crew teams of that year will be honored. The '57 basketball team was the first Orange squad to make the NCAA tournament.
The 1964 and ’67 Orange gridironers will also be paid tribute to. Both squads, under the direction of legendary coach Ben Schawartzwalder, finished the season ranked 12th in the Coaches Poll. The ’64 team finished with a 7-4 record and played in the Sugar Bowl, while the ’67 group finished 8-2, outscoring its opponents 210-127.
Renowned country singer Larry Gatllin will sing the National Anthem and entertain the Orange fanatics with a scintillating halftime performance.
