The Orange women's lacrosse team has completed its fall season under the direction of first-year head Gary Gait. Syracuse is coming off its most successful season in school history when it posted a 13-6 record, won the inaugural BIG EAST Tournament and recorded its first-ever win in the NCAA Tournament.
"We had several scrimmages and they were all successful" Gait said. "The team began the process of building chemistry and it was an opportunity for me to get to know the players. They got a taste of my style and the way I coach. There was a positive response to it."
Syracuse faced a challenging schedule this fall, which included all four national semifinalists from a year ago. After opening at Duke, the Orange took on James Madison, Cornell, Albany and Vermont. In its final action of the fall season, SU faced Princeton, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and defending national champion Northwestern
