Freshman Donte' Greene leads the Orange and ranks second in the BIG EAST with 18.9 points per outing.
Greene Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Freshman forward Donte’ Greene has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday. Greene led six Syracuse scorers in double figures in matching a career best with 25 points while grabbing eight rebounds in a resounding 125-75 win against East Tennessee State on December 15.
Greene earns his third weekly distinction from the BIG EAST after being tabbed Rookie of the Week on November 19 and November 26.
The freshman forward connected on 7-of-13 attempts from the field, including a 5-for-10 performance from long range. Greene’s marksmenlike scoring display aided an Orange attack that yielded a program-record 75.8% shooting percentage. Syracuse buried 15-of-25 3-point attempts, matching a program best and eclipsing a Carrier Dome standard (14) in the victory.
Through 10 games this season, Greene leads all Syracuse scorers and ranks second in the BIG EAST with 18.9 points per game. Greene’s 8.5 rebounds per game clip is good enough for second on the Orange and 12th in the conference.
Syracuse (7-3) returns to the Carrier Dome hardwood in hopes of winning its second straight contest, and fourth in the last five outings, against Colgate on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m. In a series that dates back to the 1901-02 campaign, the Orange and Raiders will meet for the 160th time.
