Rowan Named Preseason All-American

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Katie Rowan (Delmar, N.Y.) earned preseason All-America accolades by Inside Lacrosse. Rowan, who was also selected to the All-BIG EAST Preseason Team, earned third-team honors by the magazine.
Rowan earned regional All-American First Team accolades during her rookie season. She was the only freshman named to the All-Northeast First Team. Rowan also earned unanimous selection the All-BIG EAST First Team.
Rowan posted 56 points on 46 goals and 10 assists during her rookie campaign. Her 46 goals are the third-highest mark in school history, while her 56 points rank fourth in the school record book. Both marks are also SU freshman records. Rowan registered at least two goals in 15-of-16 games during her first season with the Orange.
In addition to her accomplishments on the field, Rowan had an impressive freshman season on campus. She earned BIG EAST Academic All-Star accolades and was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.
