SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Kayla Carter (Racine, Wis.) had an impressive weekend at the Syracuse Invitational and for her efforts she was recognized as the ECAC Field Athlete of the Week.
Carter finished first in the pentathlon at the SU Invitational, recording a career-best mark of 3,416 points. With her performance, Carter qualified for both the BIG EAST Indoor Championship and the ECAC Indoor Championship.
Carter’s honor is the eighth time that an SU student-athlete has been recognized by the ECAC. Last week, senior Dan Pribula and sophomore Nana Sang-Bender earned ECAC Male Field Athlete of the Week and ECAC Women Track Athlete of the Week accolades.
