Women's Results
Boston, Mass. – Sophomore Michael LeBlanc continued his strong season, winning the 55m dash at the IC4A Championship. LeBlanc helped lead the Orange to one its strongest performances at the IC4A Championship as Syracuse finished sixth of 53 teams. Freshman Maegan Krifchin also won a title, winning the 1,000m run championship to lead the SU women to a 13th-place finish of 51 teams.
Boston, Mass. – Sophomore Michael LeBlanc continued his strong season, winning the 55m dash at the IC4A Championship. LeBlanc helped lead the Orange to one its strongest performances at the IC4A Championship as Syracuse finished sixth of 53 teams. Freshman Maegan Krifchin also won a title, winning the 1,000m run championship to lead the SU women to a 13th-place finish of 51 teams.
LeBlanc won the 55m dash title with a time of 6.21, .19 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. With his mark, LeBlanc set the championship record, breaking the previous mark of 6.22 seconds in 1986. His championship record is the second he has set this year. LeBlanc also broke the BIG EAST 60m dash record earlier in the season.
Krifchin won her first collegiate championship with a mark of 2:52.81 in the 1,000m run, more than a second ahead of the second-place finisher. She is the first SU female track athlete to win an ECAC title since Alison Culley in 2003.
Senior Aulton Kohn placed in both the 55m dash and the 200m dash. Kohn, who won the 55m dash championship in 2005 and 2006, placed third in the event with a time of 6.41. In the 200m dash, he broke his own school record with a time of 21.18. Kohn set the 200m dash record during last year’s IC4A Championship, placing fourth with a mark of 21.26.
Additional highlights on the men’s side included junior Kyle Heath’s performance in the mile run. Heath placed second in the event with a time of 4:11.24. Senior Dan Pribula finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 17.00m and junior Marcus Vaughn also scored for the Orange, placing eighth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.57.
