Softball Doubleheader vs. Louisville

The Syracuse softball team's BIG EAST doubleheader against Louisville, scheduled for Friday, April 13, has been postponed due to inclement weather. The doubleheader is rescheduled for Saturday, April 14th, at noon at Syracuse's Skytop Stadium. Live audio of the doubleheader can be heard on SUathletics.com via Orange All Access. SU (15-24, 5-5 BIG EAST) is riding a season-high five-game winning streak. The Orange swept a doubleheader from visiting in-state rival Binghamton, 12-0 in five innings and 4-0 on April 3, swept Pittsburgh, 7-5 and 10-5 on April 7 and defeated Buffalo 6-5 on April 11.
The Orange pounded out six runs off 11 hits at UB and freshman RHP Brittany Gardner earned her eighth victory of the year, allowing five runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts. Sophomore Tonye McCorkle went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored in the victory.
Syracuse is hitting .278 as a team and is led offensively by freshman Ev Anderson who is hitting .340 with 35 hits and 25 runs. McCorkle is batting .333 with a team-high 37 hits and 11 stolen bases. Sophomore Heather Kim is batting .321 with 35 hits, 22 RBI and a team-best 18 walks. Sophomore Lindsay Wasek is currently on a career-high five-game hitting streak. SU looks to Gardner (8-18, 5.45 ERA/137.1) and junior Chanel Roehner (7-6, 4.45/100.2 IP).
Louisville (23-16, 5-1 BIG EAST), like Syracuse, has won its last five games. The Cardinals fought through a rain delay and nine innings before the Louisville prevailed 7-6 on April 11.
Louisville is hitting .292 as a team and is led offensively by Audrey Rendon who is hitting .373 with 53 hits, eight doubles, six triples, 27 runs and 12 stolen bases. Brook McCrain is batting .343 with 35 hits, six doubles, 11 runs and 19 RBI. Courtney Moore is hitting .333 on the season with a team-leading seven home runs and 26 RBI. The Cardinals will look to Kristen Wadwell (7-5, 1.99 ERA/91.2 IP) and Kassie Stanfill (10-5, 2.39 ERA/93.2 IP) in the circle while Catherine Bishop (6-6, 2.04 ERA/75.2 IP) continues to recover from stress fractures.
