
Greene Preps For 2007 Jordan Classic

Donte' Greene (Towson Catholic/Baltimore, MD), who will enroll at Syracuse University and play basketball next year, is in the midst of preparations for the 2007 Michael Jordan Brand All-American Classic at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, April 21. Tip time is 9:00 p.m.
Greene, a 6-9, 217 forward, has already participated in the 2007 McDonald's High School game and the 2007 Nike Hoops Summit. He is a first team Parade All-American. He averaged 18.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.1 steals in his senior season at Towson Catholic. He finished his scholastic career with more than 2,200 points.
Oak Hill Academy (Va.) coach Steve Smith will coach Greene's Royal team in the Jordan event. The roster also includes Chris Wright (St. John's College Prep/Washington, D.C.), who has signed with Georgetown. The Royal team will face a Yellow squad coached by St. Patrick High School (N.J.) mentor Kevin Boyle. His lineup will feature Duke recruit Kyle Singler (S. Medford H.S./Medford, OR).
The two Jordan Classic squads are scheduled to participate in an autograph signing on Wednesday, April 18, at Foot Locker on West 45th and Broadway between 7:30 and 9:00 p.m. On Thursday the squads will practice in the morning and hold a media opportunity following practice at the Sports Club/LA at noon. that evening a slam dunk contest and three-point competition will be conducted in Gauchos gymnasium in the Bronx at 7:30 p.m.
Friday's itinerary includes team scrimmages. The Jordan Classic is Saturday evening.
