Princeton, N.J. – The Orange track & field team continued its strong play at the Larry Ellis Invitational with six SU student-athletes qualifying for the IC4A/ECAC Championship.
Princeton, N.J. – The Orange track & field team continued its strong play at the Larry Ellis Invitational with six SU student-athletes qualifying for the IC4A/ECAC Championship.
The day was highlighted by men’s 400m hurdles competition and the women’s long jump. Syracuse had two competitors earn invitations to the IC4A/ECAC Championship with their performances. In the men’s 400m hurdles, sophomore Terry Marshall won the event with a time of 52.63, while classmate Skyy Simmons placed second in 53.03.
In the women’s long jump competition, juniors Jillian Drouin and Kaity Lambracht each posted ECAC-qualifying distances. Drouin finished second in the event with a mark of 5.87 and Lambracht finished right behind, placing third with a distance of 5.80m.
Junior Ramon Sosa posted an IC4A-qualifying mark in the 110m hurdles, finishing second in 14.39. Senior Dan Pribula joined the list of SU student-athletes to qualify for the IC4A Championship, placing in second in the shot put with a distance of 16.01m.
In addition, sophomore Lauren McClenney won the 400m hurdles competition, recording a time of 1:02.66 and just missing ECAC standards by two hundredths of a second.
Syracuse is back in action on April 26, competing at the Penn Relays.
