Ithaca, N.Y. – Junior Ramon Sosa led the Orange track & field teams at the Big Red Invitational, hosted by Cornell. Sosa won the 110m hurdles competition and earned his first career invitation to the NCAA Regional. Three additional SU student-athletes qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Championship.
Ithaca, N.Y. – Junior Ramon Sosa led the Orange track & field teams at the Big Red Invitational, hosted by Cornell. Sosa won the 110m hurdles competition and earned his first career invitation to the NCAA Regional. Three additional SU student-athletes qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Championship.
Sosa won the 110m hurdles with a career-best mark of 14.24. He finished more than two tenths of a second ahead of teammate and classmate Marcus Vaughn. Vaughn finished second with a time of 14.45, qualifying for the IC4A Championship.
On the women’s side, two jumper earned invitations to the ECAC Championship. Freshman Annabelle Pellerin placed second in the high jump with a career-best jump of 1.70m. Sophomore Christina Connolly finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 11.91.
Three additional Syracuse competitors won events at the Big Red Invitational. Junior Kathleen Sanborn won the 1,500m run with a time of 4:41.72, sophomore Lauren McClenney won the 400m hurdles with a mark of 1:02.79 and senior Brian Allen won the triple jump with a distance of 14.16m.
