
Brown Leads Former 'Cuse Basketball Players in Summer League Action

Damone Brown ’01 (Orlando Magic) scored 13 points in making his third consecutive start for the Orlando Magic summer-league team last night, July 11. The Magic are playing in the 2007 Pepsi Pro Summer League in Orlando, Fla. Gerry McNamara ’06 (Philadelphia 76ers) also took the court in the 76ers final game in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nev.
On Wednesday night, Brown contributed a 5-of-10 shooting effort to go with four rebounds and two assists. However, the Magic fell to 2-1 suffering their first loss, 95-77, to the Charlotte Bobcats. The Magic will go head-to-head against the Chicago Bulls today, 20 minutes following the completion of the first game, which starts at 3 p.m. McNamara scored two points and dished out two assists in seven minutes as the 76ers defeated the Phoenix Suns, 104-101. The 76ers finished 3-2. The 76ers summer-league team will begin play in the 2007 Rocky Mountain Revue in Utah tomorrow, July 13 versus San Antonio at 4:30 p.m.
Demitris Nichols ’07 (New York Knicks) and Darryl Watkins ’07 (Sacramento Kings) summer-league teams will tip-off tonight, July 12, at 10 p.m.
