PROVIDENCE, RI – Sophomore Sarah Morton (Burnt Hill, NY/Burnt Hills) has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll following her performance in Syracuse’s 3-0 sweep of Rutgers in the BIG EAST opener on Friday, September 21.
Morton powered the Orange offense with a team-high 15 kills on just 19 total attacks. Morton’s .737 attack percentage is a season-high and just shy of her career-best .750, set against West Virginia in 2006. Defensively, Morton was just as impressive in tallying a team-high six total blocks, including four solo stuffs.
Syracuse will look to remain unbeaten in BIG EAST play with two matches away from the friendly-confines of Manley Fied House at Louisville on Saturday, September 29 and Cincinnati on Sunday, September 30. Both matches are scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
