SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The RV/RV Orange women's basketball team carries a 12-1 record and a 11-game winning streak into its Saturday, Jan. 5 contest against RV/RV Louisville in both teams' BIG EAST opener. The game is slated for 7 p.m. and will take place inside the Carrier Dome, where the Orange is 6-0 this season.

The Orange, which is 13-12 all-time in home league openers, will be playing in its fifth consecutive home contest. SU returned from a 77-75 victory at Princeton on Dec. 17 and defeated Maryland Eastern Shore, 85-56, on Dec. 19. The Orange than had wins against Saint Peter's, 81-35, on Dec. 22, against Siena, 78-59, on Dec. 28 and against St. Bonaventure, 72-57, on Dec. 31.
During those games, Syracuse averaged 79.0 ppg, while holding its opponents to 51.8 ppg. Senior forward Fantasia Goodwin posted a team-best 18.5 ppg and 15.5 rpg during the span. She is one of four Orange who averaged 11 or more points.
Junior guard Chandrea Jones posted 17.5 ppg, while sophomore forward Nicole Michael averaged 11.8 ppg and freshman guard Erica Morrow registered 11.0 ppg.
Jones, Goodwin, Michael and Morrow are all averaging double-digits for the year. Jones leads the team with 15.7 ppg and is second with 8.8 rpg. Goodwin is the only Orange averaging a double-double with 15.2 ppg and a team-high 10.7 rpg. She has registered a double-double in five straight games, which is the third longest stretch in SU history.
Michael has scored 11.9 ppg and grabbed 7.5 rpg and Morrow is averaging 11.1 ppg and 3.7 rpg. Morrow leads the team with 49 assists and 26 steals.
Louisville is riding the wave of a 10-game winning streak and is 11-2 on the year. The Cardinals are coming off a 76-64 victory against Middle Tennessee State on Dec. 30. Junior forward Angel McCoughtry scored 32 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season.
McCoughtry leads the country with 24.3 points and 5.0 steals per outing. In just two and a half seasons, she has scored 1,336 points.
The Orange is 1-4 all-time against the Cardinals with SU winning the first outing between the two schools, 73-60, during the 1986-87 season.
