SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse women’s soccer squad will host its final regular-season homes of the season this weekend at the SU Soccer Stadium, starting with Seton Hall on Friday at 6 p.m. The Orange enters the weekend with a 4-8-2 overall record, including a 4-2-2 mark on its home field.
The Orange is battling for a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament. Syracuse is 1-5-1 in league play and sits in seventh place in the American Division. The top five teams from each division qualify for the conference tournament. SU trails Pittsburgh by only two points for fifth place. Seton Hall also has a 1-5-1 mark against league opponents and is in seventh place in the National Division.
Admission to all Syracuse women’s soccer games is free of charge.
THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series between the two schools, 6-5. Last season the Orange limited the Pirates to five shots, none of which were on goal, on its way to a 1-0 victory. The squads have been equally matched over the years as seven of the games have been decided by a goal. Neither team has won more than two straight since the series began in 1996.
BELLINGHAM MAKING HER MARK
Sophomore Megan Bellingham recorded her first assist of the season at Georgetown, giving her 13 points on the season. That total ranks fifth on Syracuse’s all-time sophomore scoring list. In addition, her five goals tie her for fourth on the sophomore goals scored list.
