SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After posting its eighth-straight road win Saturday, October 18 at Marquette, the Syracuse University volleyball team (13-9, 5-1 BE) looks to extend its streak to nine when it travels to Loudonville, N.Y. Tuesday evening to take on the Siena Saints. This is the second meeting between the two teams in 2008 after Siena visited the Orange at the Big Orange Tournament.

Tuesday evening to take on the Siena Saints. This is the second meeting between the two teams in 2008 after Siena visited the Orange at the Big Orange Tournament.
“We are playing much better as a team compared to a month ago,” head coach Jing Pu said. “This is an opportunity for us to prove it.”
Syracuse heads into the match with the Saints on a four-game winning streak. Prior to its 3-2 victory against the Marquette Golden Eagles, the Orange earned wins against Georgetown (3-1) on October 10, South Florida (3-1) on October 12 and Niagara (3-0) on October 14.

Scouting the Golden Eagles (October 18, 2 p.m.)
The Siena Saints head into Tuesday’s match on a two-game winning streak after earning victories against MAAC opponents Iona (3-1) and Manhattan (3-2) this past weekend.
In Saturday’s match against Iona, Burgandy McCurty and Amanda Begin combined for 33 kills. Setter April London recorded a double-double after registering 46 assists and 10 digs. On Sunday the Saints faced Manhattan and McCurty recorded 28 kills and 10 digs in the five-set victory.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. Siena was one of the five participating teams in Syracuse’s Big Orange Tournament earlier this season. The Saints went 1-2 in the tournament, with their only win coming against the Orange.

Syracuse will play its first matches in the women’s building this weekend when it welcomes BIG EAST opponents Cincinnati and Louisville. The Orange takes on the Bearcats Friday, October 24 at 7 p.m. and the Cardinals Sunday, October 26 at 2 p.m.
