SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After opening the 2008-09 campaign with victories against both Siena and Maryland Eastern Shore, Syracuse looks to continue its early success in a midweek matchup with No. 17/19 Ohio State. The Orange faces the Buckeyes on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Value City Arena.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After opening the 2008-09 campaign with victories against both Siena and Maryland Eastern Shore, Syracuse looks to continue its early success in a midweek matchup with No. 17/19 Ohio State. The Orange faces the Buckeyes on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Value City Arena.

SU opened the season against the Siena Saints on Nov. 14 where the Orange won, 89-75. Senior guard Chandrea Jones recorded a career-high 33 points, followed closely by sophomore guard Erica Morrow who tallied 25 points. From there, Syracuse headed south to Maryland Eastern Shore where it defeated the Lady Hawks, 68-28. Junior guard Juanita Ward registered her first double-double as a member of the Orange, with a team-high 20 points and 15 rebounds.
This will be the eighth meeting between the Buckeyes and the Orange, and the first time the teams have met since the 1993-94 season. The Buckeyes have won all eight games, posting an 85-61 victory back in 1993.
Scouting the Buckeyes
The Buckeyes, of the Big Ten conference, are led by seventh-year head coach Jim Foster. The Buckeyes return four starters from last year’s squad that tied for the Big Ten regular-season title and advanced to the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
OSU won its first two contests this season, both of which have been on its home court. The Buckeyes posted a 75-56 win against Butler on Nov. 14 and a 92-58 victory against Army on Nov. 16

Following Syracuse’s contest at Ohio State, the Orange hosts Portland State in its home opener on Saturday, Nov. 22 in the Carrier Dome. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
