
Junior Sarah Morton leads the Orange volleyball team with 299 kills and 128 total blocks this season.
Morton Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Sarah Morton has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after her performance versus conference foes Notre Dame and DePaul this past weekend. Morton led the Orange with 37 kills and 14 total blocks.
Morton tallied a career-high 25 kills and only two attack errors against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday, Nov. 1. She also posted a team-high .561 attack percentage.
Against the Blue Demons on Sunday, Morton recorded a team-high 12 kills. Morton was also a force on defense. She had 10 total blocks for the Orange and tied her career-high in digs with three.
Morton leads the team in several categories this season. She has played in 100 sets totaling 299 kills, a .395 attack percentage, 29 solo blocks and 99 block assists. The junior has also made herself at home on several all-time lists for the Orange. She is second all-time in solo blocks with 133, fourth on the all-time list for total blocks with 436 and sixth on SU’s block assists list with 303. Morton was named a top five blocker by CVU.com following the 2007 season after setting the Orange single-season record for solo blocks with 72.
Syracuse will be back on the road this weekend visiting BIG EAST opponents Seton Hall and Villanova. The Orange will meet the Pirates on Saturday, Nov. 8 and the Wildcats on Sunday, Nov. 9. Both matches are set to begin at 2 p.m.
