SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Eric Cleckner, a member of the men’s track & field team, is the Syracuse University Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 18.

Cleckner, a Camp Hill, Pa., native, earned BIG EAST Academic All-Star honors and was twice selected to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in 2006-07. He is majoring in advertising design.

Cleckner has qualified for the 2008 BIG EAST Indoor Championship in the long jump and high jump with 6.62m and 1.91m performances, respectively. He recorded both tallies at the Syracuse Invitational on February 1-2.

The Syracuse men and women’s indoor track & field teams begin the 2008 indoor postseason on Saturday, February 23 at the BIG EAST Championship at the Armory Track in New York, N.Y.
