Vasilyeva Named Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for February 4

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Maria Vasilyeva, a member of the tennis team, is the Syracuse University Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 4.
Vasilyeva, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, was named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star and earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recognition following the fall semester of the 2006-07 academic year. She was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team in 2007 and currently owns a 65-48 overall career record at Syracuse.
The Syracuse tennis team continues a four-match road-swing on Friday, February 8 against Niagara at 6:00 p.m..
