
Flynn, Greene, Harris Earn All-BIG EAST Recognition

SYRACUSE, NY -- Freshman guard Jonny Flynn, sophomore guard Paul Harris, and freshman forward Donte Greene earned All-BIG EAST Conference honors on Monday. Harris and Greene were Second Team All-BIG EAST Conference while Flynn was an All-BIG EAST Conference Honorable Mention selection. Flynn and Greene were also unanimous picks for the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team.
The teams were voted on by the league's coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.
Syracuse (19-12, 9-9) is the ninth seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Conference Tournament in New York. The Orange are slated to play eighth-seed Villanova (19-11, 9-9) in the opening game of the event on Wednesday, March 12, at noon in Madison Square Garden.
Flynn has started all 31 games for the Orange this season. He is averaging 15.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and a club-best 5.3 assists per outing. He finished the campaign ranked fourth among Division I performers in minutes played average (conference games only). Flynn averaged 39.2 minutes per conference game (18 games) this winter. His 493 points rank fifth on Syracuse's freshman point list, one behind Billy Owens.
Greene has been with the first string in all 31 games to date. He's leading the team in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game, and is third in rebounding with a 7.4 mark. Greene's 542 points and third on SU's freshman point list and his 75 three-point baskets rank 10th on Syracuse's single-season ledger.
Harris has started at guard and forward for the Orange and has been out for the opening tip in all 31 outings. He's averaging 14.5 pionts and 8.3 rebounds a game. He enters the tournament with a stretch of 11 straight games in double digits.
