The Orange enjoyed much success this past weekend with victories in women's lacrosse, softball and track and field. The No. 5/6 women's lacrosse team hosted a pair of New York schools when Binghamton and Hofstra arrived in the Carrier Dome this past week. The softball team was at the USF Invitational and walked away with three wins in five games. The track and field team was at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championship and the Washington Last Chance Meet.
The No. 5/6 women's lacrosse team opened the week with a 22-8 victory against Binghamton on Tuesday, Mar 4 behind a career-best six goals by sophomore Halley Quillinan. Her performance tied Katie Rowan for Syracuse's highest single-game goal total this season. Senior Kristin Brady and sophomores Christina Dove and Jack DePetris each totaled hat tricks.
The Orange followed with a 21-10 win against Hofstra on Sunday, Mar. 9. Rowan produced a team-high nine points on five goals and four assists. Quillinan matched her career high with six goals and Dove added five tallies. Freshman goalkeeper Liz Hogan recorded five saves.

The Orange (3-15) earned its first victories of the season at the USF Invitational from Friday, Mar. 7 through Sunday, Mar. 9. Senior Chanel Roehner pitched a complete game to guide SU to a 3-2 win against Sam Houston on Friday and earned its third win of the weekend by pitching a complete-game shutout in a 10-0 win against Quinnipiac on Sunday. SU added a win against Fairfield, 6-3, on Saturday. Roehner also made her mark at the plate by batting .389 (7-for-18) with three runs and a team-best six RBI.
Junior catcher Amy Kelley continued to roll by batting a .467 (7-for-15) with two runs, two RBI and her second home run of the season. The bats of freshman outfielder Rachel Helman and sophomore outfielder Ev Anderson came alive as Helman led the team with a .571 average (4-for-7) with four runs scored, while Anderson posted a .429 average (3-for-7) with one run, a double and one RBI.

Behind school-record performances from sophomore Maegan Krifchin and freshman Flings Owusu-Agyapong, and a first-place finish from senior Jillian Drouin, the Orange women’s track & field team finished third of 53 teams at the ECAC Championship in Boston, Mass. Krifchin (2:50.54) set the Orange’s new mark in the 1,000m run and finished fourth, while Owusu-Agyapong (7.52) posted the program’s top time in the 55m dash. Drouin captured the high jump crown with a tally of 1.82m, matching the Syracuse school record owned by Diane Phillips (1987).
Sophomore Uhunoma Osazuwa (3,726) and senior Kaity Lambracht (3,709) finished second and third, respectively, in the pentathlon. The third-place mark is the women’s best finish under third-year head coach Chris Fox at the ECAC Championship. The Orange men finished tied for 23 out of 46 teams at the IC4A Championship. Sophomore Jon Buice led the Syracuse men with a school-record performance of 5,068 points in the heptathlon.
