The top two scoring offenses in the BIG EAST square off when No. 6/8 Syracuse faces No. 12/16 Notre Dame on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Notre Dame, Ind. in the league opener for both schools. The Orange (4-1) leads the conference in points (26.80) and goals (18.60) per game. The Fighting Irish (5-2) ranks second in both categories, averaging 23.33 points and 15.33 goals per game.

ROWAN NAMED BIG EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior Katie Rowan earned the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week award for her performance in Syracuse’s victories against Binghamton and Hofstra. Rowan totaled 15 points in the two contests. She scored a pair of goals and tied her career high with four assists in Syracuse’s 22-8 victory against Binghamton. Rowan followed that performance with nine points on five goals and four assists in the Orange’s 21-10 victory against Hofstra. She scored the first goal of the second half against the Pride, sparking the SU offense on a 9-0 scoring run. Rowan had two goals and two assists during the spurt. The nine points tie her for third on Syracuse’s single-game scoring list.
QUILLINAN IGNITES ORANGE OFFENSE
Sophomore Halley Quillinan has scored six goals in back-to-back games. Quillinan set a career high with six goals against Binghamton. Against Hofstra, she equalled that performance with six goals in Syracuse’s 21-10 victory. She now has 19 goals this season which leads the team. Quillinan ranks third on the team in points with 21.
A LOOK AT TODAY'S GAME
Sunday's game is the 10th meeting between the two schools ... The win against Hofstra was the 110th in the history of the Syracuse program ... Sunday's game features the top two scorers in the league. SU’s Katie Rowan leads the BIG EAST, averaging 6.6 points per game, while Notre Dame’s Jillian Byers is second with a 5.71 points per game average.
