SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse fans are invited to stand opposite former professional tennis player and French Open Champion “Dual Hand Luke” Jensen in a “Return-A-Serve” contest on Saturday, March 29. The contest, organized by SynerCuse, is part of the Orange tennis match against BIG EAST foe St. John’s at 2:00 p.m. at the Drumlins Tennis Center.
The “Return-A-Serve” contest will begin following the doubles competition and before the singles matches. A complimentary breakfast will be provided by Dunkin Donuts. Participants are asked to donate $1.00 and all proceeds will benefit the Orange Tennis Initiative.
As a professional player, Jensen totaled 10 ATP Tour doubles titles. In 1993, he and his brother, Murphy, captured the French Open doubles crown. Jensen’s ambidextrous play, including his ability to serve the ball with either hand at 130 miles per hour, earned him the nickname “Dual Hand Luke”.
Jensen has worked as a tennis analyst for ESPN since 1994.
