
Second Annual 'Cuse Awards Set for April 29 at Landmark Theater

Syracuse University student-athletes will take center stage at the second annual 'Cuse Awards on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Landmark Theater. Orange student-athletes will take center stage during the 2008 program celebrating the extraordinary athletic, academic and community service achievements of Syracuse University Athletics. TK-99 morning personalities Gomez and Dave will host the show, along with Voice of the Orange, Matt Park.
A limited number of tickets are available to the general public at a cost of $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Please call the Orange Club Office (315-443-1419) to order. The 'Cuse Awards is presented by TK-99, the flagship radio station of Syracuse Athletics.
The 'Cuse Awards will showcase academic and athletic talents and community service outreach within the University community, as well as the neighboring community, and will recognize many outstanding achievements from 2007-08, including the Play of the Year, Game of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, the Syracuse Eight Award of Courage, academic and athletics All-Americans, individual team awards, and the presentation of the 2008 Soladay Award.
Live musical performances by Syracuse student-athletes Jake Flaherty (football) and Skyy Simmons (track and field), who will perform Lupe Fiasco's “Superstar”, and Divinia Davis, accompanied by Kristin Brady (women's lacrosse) on piano and Chris Mandry on drums, who will perform Whitney Houston's “One Moment in Time”. In addition, Orange Appeal, an SU men's a cappella group, will perform a medley of “Stand by me” and “Beautiful Girls”. The Sour Sitrus Society will perform while guests are seated for the show.
