
A "Greene" Day At East Hill Elementary

Syracuse freshman Donte Greene distributed team posters, answered children's questions and read a story to Laura Cantone's second-grade class at East Hill Elementary on April 25.
Greene entertained the class of 21 students by reading "You're A Good Sport, Miss Malarkey" by Judy Finchler and Kevin O'Mally.
Greene helped Syracuse to a 21-14 overall record this past season. The Orange advanced to the NIT Quarterfinals for the second season in a row. Greene led the team in scoring (17.7) and ranked third in rebounding (7.2) average as a freshman.
The 6-11 forward has announced his intention to enter the NBA Draft this June.
Orange student-athletes and coaches are involved in various community projects. In addition to reading to classes in the area, Syracuse student-athletes have also participated in Parents as Reading Partners, Children's Book Week, and Character Education Assemblies and After-School Extra Help Programs. The 'Cuse Cares Community Service Program, supported by Citizens Bank, has been recognized with the Chancellor's Award for Public Service for the past 11 years. It is presented annually to SU students and student organizations that exemplify the highest ideal of ssustained, quality service to the Syracuse community.
